Project 1: New World Expo Center (K11).
Focus: Heavy Steel Fabrication & High Load-Bearing Capacity.
The New World Expo Center is a monumental structure located on the riverfront, designed to host world-class events. For a building of this scale, the primary challenge is stability and load capacity. The design called for massive Cross-Shaped Columns (Cruciform Columns) and Box Columns to support the immense weight of the roof and upper floors while maintaining open internal spaces. Our factory utilized advanced submerged arc welding robots to fabricate these heavy steel components (plate thickness >60mm), ensuring full penetration welds to meet strict Grade 8 seismic resistance standards.
Project 2: Wangjiawan Water Sports Center.
Focus: Complex Geometry & Long-Span Pipe Trusses.
Unlike the blocky structure of an expo center, the Wangjiawan Water Sports Center features a fluid, wave-like design to represent the flow of ice and water. This architectural beauty required complex Curved Steel Pipe Trusses. Standard straight beams were not an option; the steel had to be bent and modeled to form a seamless organic shape. Our engineering team used Tekla Structures (BIM) to model every node. In the factory, we employed 3-axis CNC pipe bending machines to achieve the precise curvature required. To guarantee that the roof would fit perfectly onsite, we conducted a Pre-Assembly Trial in our factory yard, eliminating onsite errors.
